China’s women duo in Olympic beach volleyball quarters
August 4th, 2012 - 5:18 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 4 (IANS) China’s Xue Chen and Zhang Xi marched into the quarterfinals of the women’s beach volleyball beating a Russian duo 2-0 in the London Olympic Games Saturday
The bronze medallists of Beijing Olympics Xue/Zhang eased past Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Khomyakova 21-12, 21-11 in a packed Horse Guard Parade venue, in central London, reports Xinhua.
Losing the opener of the tournament, the Chinese pair came back strongly to book a top 16 berth with a 2-1 win-loss record during the group stage.
