New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) Home Minister P. Chidambaram was Tuesday evening briefed by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna about the steps being taken to improve the condition at the “filthy” Games Village and also the security measures put in place for the Commonwealth Games.
According to a government official, the overall preparations at the Games Village, constructed by the Delhi Development Authority of which Khanna is a chairman, was discussed during the meeting.
Chidambaram also asked the L-G to visit the Games Village to oversee the preparations there.
The Games Village has drawn flak from some officials of the participating nations for being “filthy”.
