Nov.23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chicago Bears running back Kahlil Bell displayed quite a scintillating performance during his debut match when his team clashed against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Sunday night football. The Bears were defeated by the Eagles in the match that was held at Soldier Field.
The rookie played excellently in his debut match, where he managed to gain an amazing 72 yards in his first NFL carry. The run was extremely significant for the Chicago Bears as this was the first time in 20 years that a running back from their team had managed to do. Last time this happened when their player, Neal Anderson had gained 73-yard against Green Bay in the year 1989. Almost throughout the match, Bell displayed his control of the game but was unable to register his team’s victory as the Bears suffered a 24-20 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, in the second quarter Bell was able to gain 8 yards during his second carry. The young running back displayed four carries and ended with a team high of 81 yards.
After the match, the undrafted rookie, who is a former UCLA player, implied that he was overlooked in the NFL draft which made him realize that he had to work really hard to register his position in the team. Moreover, Bell also emphasized that this was a great opportunity for him to be a part of the team’s rich history. Meanwhile, the free agent had signed a contract with the Bears last Friday, following his promotion from the practice squad. The running back was promoted to replace Bears player Garrett Wolfe, who was injured.
