Chicago Bears Pay Tribute To Their Legendary Player Walter Payton

Nov. 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sunday marked the 10th death anniversary of the celebrated American football player Walter Payton. Payton played for the Chicago bears and is known as one of the best players of the National Football League. Sunday was a special day for all the fans of this highly acclaimed player, who was remembered worldwide on his death anniversary. His team, Chicago Bears also chose to pay a special tribute on this occasion.
All the players of the Chicago Bears remembered Payton and gave a heart touching tribute [during the halftime] to one of the best running back to have ever played in their teams. The legendary player was also remembered for his professionalism and work ethics and at the same time his larger than life persona. The current Running back of the Chicago Bears, Matt Forte highlighted the legacy of Payton and also added that the player was known for his challenging approach towards the game as well as towards life. In his entire lifetime he believed that it does not really matter whether one loses as long as we keep on trying. The event also saw the presence of his wife and two children to mark the occasion and an amazing video was also played at the Soldier Field.
Payton, who was fondly known as ‘Sweetness’ died in the year 1999, after suffering from a prolonged liver disease at the age of 45. He was also supposedly struggling against a malignant tumor present in his bile duct. Nevertheless, Payton is and will be remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of American football.
