Chhattisgarh to honour BindraAugust 11th, 2008 - 9:39 pm ICT by IANS
Raipur, Aug 11 (IANS) The Chhattisgarh government Monday announced a cash reward of Rs.100,000 for Abhinav Bindra who got India its first individual event Olympics gold medal. Terming Bindra’s feat a “proud achievement”, the state government said it would invite the shooter to honour him for a performance that will inspire “young sports talents”.
Chief Minister Raman Singh congratulated the gold medallist and said his performance will bring more confidence and enthusiasm among Indian players at Beijing.
