Chandigarh, Apr 12 (ANI): Ahead of their second Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Mohali on Wednesday, Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist today said defending champions Chennai Super Kings have been high on confidence after their first win the fourth edition of the tournament.

“Chennai (Chennai Super Kings) obviously is the defending champions. Very similar team formation as what they have had in that successful time. They will be very difficult. They will be confident enough after their first round win so we are expecting a tough fight there is no doubt about that,” said Gilchrist.

Gilchrist, who was all praise for the friendly environment in the team, said although cricket was termed as a team game, individual performances matter a lot.

“The spirit in our team is excellent and I am sure all the franchisers would say that all being very positive experiences. Everyone is getting on well. It’s time whether you can transfer that into success on the field and you have got to perform as an individual. Cricket is a team game, but it all comes down to individuals doing their own job well,” he said.

The former Australian wicket keeper also talked about having a good bowling line, which was ready to shoulder responsibility and perform well in the upcoming games.

“We feel like we have got some decent fast bowling options and obviously if it is spinning we have got Piyush (Piyush Chawla), Bhargav Bhatt, a left arm orthodox, so we have got that and David Hussey joins us tonight so he will come into the reckoning of playing and he obviously bowls, he is off spinner as well. So, we feel we have got some reasonable players to cover off whatever the conditions present,” he added.

After a disappointing loss in their opening match against Pune Warriors team, Gilchrist’s Kings XI Punjab would take on in-form CSK in their second match of the IPL tomorrow.
