Chelsea will be cautiously optimistic about taking on Man City: Ancelotti
September 20th, 2010 - 4:00 pm ICT by ANILondon, Sept. 20 (ANI): Chelsea have won their first five Premier League games, scoring 21 goals while conceding just one, but team coach Carlo Ancelotti says that he is still wary about facing Manchester City this Saturday.
“We know the next game will be more difficult and we have to show the same level of football away. Manchester City is an important test. It is important to maintain the same level of play against the top teams and I think we are able to do this. We have to look at City as rivals because they are a new team,” the Daily Express and the Sun quoted him, as saying.
“I am very happy with another win. It was a pleasure to watch my team like they played in the first half. “Blackpool had a good reaction after the first half. We didn’t play so well because, being 4-0 up, it is more difficult to maintain concentration and stay focused in the game,” he added.Chelsea face Newcastle in the Carling Cup tomorrow and Ancelotti said: “We will change a lot of players. We want to use this competition for our young players.”
The Blues boss also confirmed Frank Lampard, out with a hernia injury, will feature against City.
John Terry, who missed yesterday’s game with a rib problem, will be fit for Eastlands.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway described Chelsea as a great team.
“The movement and players are world class,” he said. (ANI)
