‘Chelsea finding bad spell hard to live with’, says Drogba
February 9th, 2011 - 4:52 pm ICT by ANILondon, Feb 9(ANI): Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has admitted that everyone at the club is struggling to come to terms with their abysmal Premier League season.
The defending champions are currently 10 points behind points’ table leaders Manchester United.
“I am finding this bad spell hard to live with - and I am not the only one. The whole squad is suffering because you have to remember that no one at Chelsea is accustomed to losing so many matches,” the Sun quoted Drogba, as saying.
“Carlo Ancelotti has not been happy with us in recent weeks and all the injuries, the poor results and the lack of goals have created a bad mood around the place.”
“For my own part, my performances this season have suffered because of injuries and because of the malaria I contracted at the end of last year,” he added.
The 32-year-old also declared that Liverpool “cut our legs away” when they won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
“We had won our previous three Premier League games - against Blackburn, Bolton and Sunderland - and we were beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. But the defeat by Liverpool has cut our legs away and seriously damaged our chances of winning the League title again,” Drogba said.
“It is going to be difficult for us to catch up with Manchester United now,” he added. (ANI)
