Chase Utley Hits Record Tying Five Homers

chasePhiladelphia, Nov.3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Philadelphia Phillies player Chase Utley displayed a scintillating performance in the fifth game of the World Series on Monday that enabled his team to register victory against the New York Yankees. Chase managed to score two home runs that increased his series total to five. With this Chase has been successful in tying former American baseball right fielder Reggie Jackson’s record of most home runs in a World Series. In the year 1977, Jackson delivered five homers against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated rival New York Yankees with a score of 8-6. The fifth game of the Series was extremely crucial for the defending champions as it would have been eliminated from the championship if it failed to win Monday’s match. However, outstanding performances from players of the team such as Chase and Cliff Lee made sure that the Phillies still remain in the championship. Chase performed well since the first innings when he managed to score three runs in a shot and again the seventh innings witnessed Chase connect off New York Yankees player Phil Coke that helped his team take the lead.

Chase Utley who is the second basemen of his team Philadelphia Phillies of the Major League Baseball has over the years showcased significant amount of versatility. This has enabled him to create his position as one of the most prominent players of the team. This year the player was also in news as he grabbed the sixth spot in the list of 50 greatest current baseball players by the sports magazine ‘Sporting News’.
