Even though he does not express explicitly what he underwent after the Linebacker Alumni taunted him with there condescension using a billboard, the episode was rather embarrassing.

Greg Delinski clarified saying, “It just happens to be a coincidence that they have the billboard over the Linebacker Lounge. We have nothing to do with having that billboard up there.”

The South Bend Tribune did not get an explanation from the billboard owner also. Ex-ND player Tom Reynolds supported the sarcasm saying that ‘by definition’ a good coach is not supposed to witness his team losing games when there is no dearth of “superior talent” on his team. It is rather queer that a coach who has a good record of wins for his teams is suddenly being scrutinized for the 15 losses in the 2007-8 period. Notre Dame has recently wrapped up the season by defeating Hawaii for 49-21.

Weis’ down-sloping career performance had amounted to rumors that he would be removed from serving as head coach but now that his tenure is extended to 2015, it stirs some controversy since Weis’ predecessor Tyrone Willingham begun with 8-0 and showed a similar career graph as Weis but was deprived of any extensions of tenure on the team.

In a conversation with YES Network commentators after the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers MLB game on Friday July 17th 2009, Weis said that his all time favorite team is the Yankees.
