Arlington, Va, Oct. 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Star football player Charlie Davies, who belongs to the U.S. Men’s national team, has been seriously injured in an accident that is said to have occurred on the early morning, nearly about 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
The deadly accident had reportedly taken place in the suburbs in Virginia. New reports from various sources following the accident had stated that Davies had been grievously injured in the near fatal encounter. The news of the car crash has been confirmed by a spokesperson from the U.S. Soccer. Another passenger accompanying Davies in the car is reported to have been killed in the crash.
Immediately after the accident, Davies had been rushed to the Washington Hospital Center that is located in Washington. A lengthy and elaborate three hour long surgery had to be performed on Davies, following the accident. He is said to have sustained quite a few serious and deep wounds, as well as a punctured bladder. A few bones is also said to have been broken in his right leg. There also seems to be some facial and (left) elbow fractures. According to a revelation from a doctor from the U.S. Soccer team, the state of Davies injuries are such that “usually require a recovery period of six to 12 months.” He is now said to be in a serious yet stable condition.
This update therefore makes it evident that Davies would not be playing at the FIFA World Cup that is scheduled to take place next year. This is most certainly a very unfortunate development, both for the team as well as Davies.
