Chandra, Baisoya ahead in junior golf event

New Delhi, July 6 (IANS) In-form Yashas Chandra of Mysore shot the day’s best card of 73 and moved into a five-shot lead in Delhi junior and sub-junior golf at the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort Wednesday.

Yashas, who won the Chandigarh Junior title last week, is now 148 for two days and is five clear of Roshan Raj (78-75) and Aman Raj (75-78).

Honey Baisoya of Delhi became the Group B leader with a round of 75, the same as first day, for a total of 150, even as overnight leaders, Arrush Ahuja (74-77) and Pukhraj Singh Gill (74-80), slipped with rounds of 77 and 80. Arrush is tied second at 151 with Prakhar Asawa (77-74). Pukhraj is fourth.

Among boy’s Group C, Arjun Puri broke away into sole lead with a second round of 77 for a total of 158, while Karandeep Kochar (80-81) was second at 161.

In boy’s Group D, Karan Pratap Singh was the leader at 84 with Aadil Bedi, who shot the same card.

Among girls, Gurbani Singh carded an even par 72 after a first round 79 to total 151, while Raksha Phadke (79-77) was second at 156.

In girls Group B. Vrishali Sinha (79-83) continued to lead with Ridhima Dilwari and Vidushi Sinha second at 167, five shots behind.

In Group C, the leader continued to be Amrita Anand (84-76) at 160.
