London, Sep 15 (ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes his team is finally equipped physically and mentally to win the Champions League this year, as the Blues kick off another campaign against Slovakian champions Zilina today.

Skipper John Terry’s missed penalty in the 2008 final against Manchester United sums up the agony as the Blues kick off another campaign at Slovakian Double winners MSK Zilina, The Sun reports.

“This club deserves to win the Champions League. But to win, you have to deserve it not for the past, but we have to do it for the present. I haven’t spoken about the past. But I know how it feels. I can say that for me it was a good experience because two years after Milan lost, we had our revenge against Liverpool,” the paper quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

“If you have the time to wait, the passion to wait, the revenge arrives, always. I’m sure these players will have their revenge. I don’t know if I will be here for it, but these players will have their revenge, they will win the Champions League,” he added.

Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Sturridge will make his Champions League debut in the absence of the suspended Didier Drogba.

Further praising Sturridge, Ancelotti said that he has matured and improved a lot in the past year.

Chelsea is hoping to seize the only major trophy to elude them and will make four changes from Saturday’s 3-1 win at West Ham. (ANI)
