Lahore, Dec 6 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has played down reports of fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar dancing with girls at a Kolkata night club on Wednesday.
A Kolkata based newspaper had published a photo showing Akhtar dancing with three girls.
The Pakistan cricket team management said they did not want to exaggerate the matter.
The Geo News reported no one in the team management is ready to take action against Akhtar, and he has seemingly been given a free hand to do what he pleases.
Akhtar visited to some night clubs and discos during the team’s stay in Delhi.
Akhtar came to India after completing a 13-match ban and being fined 3.4 million rupees by the board’s disciplinary committee.
He has also been placed on a two-year probation period and if he violates it, he could face life ban.
Ehsan Malik, the media manager of the team in India, dismissed the issue as a minor one.
“The Indian media wants to make an issue out of it. But, everything is under control in the team and we are looking forward to the second one-day game tomorrow,” he said.
Sources in the board said Shoaib had been spoken to and has been told to avoid such things in future on the tour, as the team didn’t want any controversies. (ANI)
