Denver, Feb 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Carmelo Anthony may not be leaving the Denver Nuggets after all.

Several reports and officials comments suggested that Anthony will be traded off before the 24th February deadline but with the date fast approaching it seems he will be staying. Anthony was highly tipped to be either heading to the New York Knicks or the Los Angeles Lakers who made a late bid for the player.

If the trade off deadline on 24th of February, Anthony will seriously have to consider the bid that was given him by the Nuggets. The Nuggets were asking the player to sign a three-year contract for $64 million.

The Nuggets seem to be having the advantage now because after the 24th February deadline there are little options that will be available for Anthony. He told Yahoo! Sports that he would consider extending his contract with the Nuggets if no teams come forward before the deadline.

Some analysts however warn that if he fails to act quickly, he might end up with less money than he should have if he had signed the contract earlier. He would have to sign a contract before the summer to avoid losing value.
