Dec.19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Seattle Mariners traded pitcher Carlos Silva for the cub’s outfielder Milton Bradley as per a deal signed between the two entities. The stint Carlos Silva had with the Seattle Mariners was miserable in the history of the team. Some insiders feel that he performed worse than Milton Bradley. The $48 million paid to Carlos Silva by the Seattle Mariners did no good to the team. The player wasted a lot of time owing to a series of injuries. He did not opt for a surgery and remained absent till September with a sore shoulder. Two years back, the player was incorporated in the Seattle Mariners as free agent.
Actually John McLaren, former Mariner manager had faith in the player and described him as a striking machine. However, the Chicago Cubs are not as enthusiastic about him. Jim Hendry, the GM of the Cubs said that the player is still young and has a chance of proving his mettle. The money will be paid in two years. Carlos Silva will get $25 million. Many fans of the team feels that Milton Bradley was foul tempered but as a player, he was better than Carlos Silva. In fact some of the fans have written in their blogs that this deal will not prove healthy for the team.
As a matter of fact, the Seattle Mariners did not expect that it would find a suitable taker for Carlos Silva. After signing the whooping $48 million contract with the Seattle Mariners, he did not give any noteworthy performance and suffered from injuries in succession.
