Capello to give Terry chance to quit as England skipper

London, Feb.4 (ANI): Coach Fabio Capello has said that he will give John Terry the chance to quit as England skipper in the wake of revelations about his extra-marital affair.
Sun Sport understands the Italian will fly back to London today after undergoing knee surgery, and is ready to be guided by how an inspirational Terry feels. The player endured constant abuse and boos during Chelsea’s draw at Hull on Tuesday night following revelations of his affair with England team mate Wayne Bridge’s former partner.
While Capello is fully aware of all of the facts - he has been thoroughly briefed on the scandal by assistant Franco Baldini. He now wants to hear how Terry is in himself and whether he can carry on shouldering constant criticism on and off the pitch.
He also wants to know whether Terry feels he has betrayed the principles of what an England captain should represent, and if he would now consider it honourable to step down.
Should Terry insist he wants to carry on and lead England to the World Cup in South Africa this summer, Capello will then assess the 29-year-old’s case for remaining skipper.
Sources close to the manager insist his primary concern is whether Terry’s actions could unbalance England preparations for the finals. (ANI)
