Capello slaps ban on England WAGs
March 3rd, 2010 - 1:39 pm ICT by ANILondon, Mar 3 (ANI): England boss Fabio Capello has slapped a ban on players’ wives and girlfriends setting up a base near their World Cup training camp.
The hard line coach declared glitzy Sun City, which WAGS decided to make their base during the World Cup, strictly off limits. It place is 14 miles from Rustenberg, where the team will train.
Hotels in the resort city had already been taking bookings from them, The Sun reports.
Capello, who is determined this summer’s squad will have no distractions, said players will only get family time the day after each of their World Cup games.
Capello, 63, stressed as he laid down the law: “After the games, they will be free for a day to do what they want. No more.”
New skipper Steven Gerrard backed the England manager.
The midfielder vowed: “My wife won’t be there. Not unless we get to the semis.” (ANI)
