Cameras clear Proteas spinner Botha to board Twenty20 plane
May 5th, 2009 - 2:44 pm ICT by ANICape Town (South Africa), May 5 (ANI): The assistant coach of the South African cricket team, Vincent Barnes, has said that controversial off spinner Johan Botha has been technically cleared to join the national squad for next month’s Twenty20 World Cup in England.
Botha returned to South Africa from Perth on Saturday after his bowling action was tested for a second time at the University of Western Australia.
Sports24 quoted Barnes, who undertook the journey with Botha, as saying: “I am optimistic. The naked eye differs, of course, from all the cameras, but it’s looking good.” (ANI)
