Cam NewtonNov 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The NCAA investigation of Cam Newton is in progress and claims have surfaced that the young player was handed a hefty amount from Mississippi State University in return of an assurance that he will play for them. He plays for the Auburn Tigers. His father Cecil Newton admitted that there had been talks with MSU on money but refuted the claim that any fund changed hands. The team of Cam Newton is, however, not under the NCAA investigation as of now.

While the media entities are speculating on the prospect of the player receiving money, Cam Newton has found support from Joe Haden who is the rookie cornerback of Cleveland Browns. In fact, Joe Haden talked to his friend for a long period recently. He feels that Cam Newton is being accused because he has been playing very well for the Auburn Tigers in the present season. The fans of the team, however, are not much perturbed by the news. His teammates too said to the media that they have decided not to let the rumors and allegations spoil their upcoming games.

The allegation that surfaced Thursday saying that his father was involved in pay-for-play deal might have affected the player but he did not let it affect his performance. If this proves to be true it would be a gross violation of the norms of NCAA. In that case the player will be declared ineligible. The team did not allow the player to talk to the media on the issue. Even the coach of the team refused to talk on the issue saying he would talk only about the games.
