cb Anaheim, Calif., Oct 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) C.B. Bucknor, the first base umpire has not done a great umpiring job in the match between Angels and Red Sox. The replays of the match showed that Bucknor had missed the three close calls which came to him.

Improper umpiring of C.B. Bucknor has been considered as one of the reasons for the loss of Red Sox against the Angels. Many consider that the umpiring skills of Bucknor do not fulfill the requirements of play off umpire.
The fans are upset on this but the team does not blame umpiring for their loss.

Instead of blaming the umpiring, Red Sox team have blamed their offense for losing the match. Boston Red Sox has some of the best players and was in excellent form for the last three seasons. However, this season, they have started with a loss. To recover, their glorious position they will have to work on their weaknesses and play well from the next match.

Jon Lester, Red Sox pitcher said that calls can create effect on the game but umpires are ordinary men like players. He said that like the players, umpires too try to give their best. Sometimes they might get wrong and it has to be accepted as a part of the game.

In the match against Angels, the Red Sox team was unable to score a single run. It is very rare that a team loses a match without scoring a single run in it. Red Sox has talented line up and so the umpiring was blamed for this condition of the team in the last match.

Actually he only got two of the calls wrong. The one in which the Angel player was called out was the correct call, although it was extremely close.

The other two, were not nearly as close and Bucknor got them wrong. Bucknor is the most notorious umpire in baseball and the league risks this every time they bring him out there.

The Red Sox most likely did not blame the calls on losing because the calls didn’t have much effect on the outcome. They were safe calls at first for players that never scored.

    It’s called a baseball “game,” not a match…jesus…..
