Utah, Nov 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Some jokes are just not humorous enough. This is very true if it is carried at the wrong place. That though seemed like exactly what the scoreboard operators of BYU did after their game with Utah.

The basketball game ended 78-72 in favor of BYU but that victory seemed overshadowed an incident that followed that game. After the game, the scoreboard had more than just the score. It had another message for the visiting team. That incident has already sparked an apology from the authorities at BYU.

After the game, the scoreboard briefly had the wrong score of 78-74 for the BYU. However it was the message that was on the scoreboard that attracted all the attention. The base of the scoreboard read, “Dear UT St. Enjoy the LOSS! (heart)/Your Big Brother BYU!” The incident received considerable debate on Thursday which might have compelled the university to come up with an apology.

The statement explained that, “Athletics does not operate the scoreboard in the Marriott Center; instead, this is handled by the university’s IT department. In this incident, the usual person was not at work because of a family emergency. The student employee filling in took the liberty of putting up what he thought was a humorous message. This matter has been addressed with the student, who regrets his action”.
