Button wins Schumacher’s approval
April 28th, 2009 - 3:10 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr.28 (ANI): Michael Schumacher has given his seal of approval to British racer Jenson Button.
The seven-time world beater has been mightily impressed after seeing the Brit roar to three wins in the opening four races.
That is according to Button’s team chief Ross Brawn, who guided the German supremo to glory at Benetton and then Ferrari.
Brawn, 54, said: “I’ve spoken to Michael about Jenson. He always had a lot of respect for Jenson when we were at Ferrari but he has the highest respect for him now.”
Button’s shimmering display in Bahrain on Sunday doubled his championship lead to 12 points before F1 returns to Europe.
The Frome flier, 29, is in the form of his life having finally being handed a competitive car by tech genius Brawn after a few years in the F1 wilderness. (ANI)
