Button feels time is right to win Formula One championship
October 16th, 2009 - 12:32 pm ICT by ANISao Paulo (Brazil), Oct.16 (ANI): Formula One championship leader Jenson Button believes he can win the title in Brazil.
Though still in beach mode as he chatted to the world’s press, The Telegraph quoted him as saying: “Well, I woke up very happy this morning,” he explained of his sunny disposition. “I had some pretty good dreams. So I woke up with a smile on my face and looking forward to the weekend. I feel like this is the right time for me.”
“I don’t think it adds to pressure, knowing that you could win the world championship; I think it adds to the excitement,” he added. With two races to go, Button needs to finish only in third place at Interlagos to be sure of becoming Britain’s second Formula One world champion in as many years following Lewis Hamilton’s coronation here 12 months ago.
He may also not have to finish at all, depending on what his rivals, Brawn team-mate Rubens Barrichello and Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, do in the race.
Hamilton recently warned Button of the white-hot reception he can expect from the Sao Paulo crowd, who are certain to be willing on local favourite Barrichello with the same passion they did Felipe Massa last year.
Button, though, said he was unconcerned about playing the role of villain. (ANI)
