New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS) Victoria Bushrangers put up a clinical show to beat Delhi Daredevils by seven wickets in a Group D encounter of the Champions League Twenty20 at the Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium here Friday.
Chasing a small target of 99, Bushrangers made 100 for the loss of three wickets in 16.4 overs with opener Rob Quiney scoring 40 and Cameron White stroking an unbeaten 22.

But the star of the day for the Victorian team was the 26-year-old fast bowler Clinton McKay, who wrecked the Daredevils batting with three wickets to restrict Daredevils to 98 for eight in 20 overs, the second lowest total posted at the venue. McKay (3-17) was adjudged as the Man of the Match.

Daredevils had to blame themselves for the loss as they failed to adjust to the slow and low nature of the newly laid track. Mithun Manhas was the top scorer with 25 while Virender Sehwag made 21.

All-rounder Andrew McDonald and Shane Harwood picked up two wickets each.

While chasing, Bushrangers too faced difficulty in adjusting to the wicket but paced their winnings well. Daredevils’ bowlers erred in line and length and could not take advantage of the uneven nature of the track.

Quiney tore apart the Daredevils bowling with three sixes and four boundaries during his 33-ball stay.

Earlier in the day, Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir (4) found his stumps rattled after Harwood’s delivery kept low. Virender Sehwag (21) looked in excellent touch but McKay pulled off a stunning catch of his own bowling to send the Indian opener back to the pavilion.

Sehwag’s dismissal triggered a mini collapse. Manhas battled his muscle cramps to stay put at the wicket but couldn’t help his team get to triple figures.
