tigerx-largeIt is still not clear whether golfer Tiger Woods is actually bidding goodbye or will he be bumping in as a surprise visit to an old friend, until the fate of the Buick Open is decided, that is perhaps possibly next week.

“It would be unfortunate,” said Woods when being asked about his thoughts that if the tournament is going to be dropped from the PGA Tour schedule. “This area has been struggling. All the players enjoy coming here, its much more personal. You seem the same people at the same holes this year,” quipped Woods.

It was little known to every one, that Buick Open, one of the most prestigious golf tournament would be cut out from this year’s PGA Tour. According to the sources, Buick’s sponsorship of the tour’s Michigan stop concludes on Sunday with a possible replacement by another event organized by a still undisclosed sponsor at an undisclosed location.

It was much appreciated that Tiger Woods committed himself to play this week otherwise which would have been disappointing with the absence of the reigning champion Kenny Perry, which is already being felt in the lush green field. Jimmy Furwyk is the only other contestant who is amongst the world’s top 25. The Warwick Hill Golf and Country Club has been quiet favorable for Woods and Furyk with three wins and four runners up titles amongst them.

The absence of the reigning champion Kenny Perry has literally marred the charm of this year’s tournament. Concerns regarding the Buick Open was also expressed by many players including Woods, who has repeatedly stated that he would miss the tournament.
