Buffon to extend Juventus deal
September 10th, 2012 - 2:51 pm ICT by IANSRome, Sep 10 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is expected extend his contract with Juventus till 2016.
An Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Sunday that Italy custodian would be signed Thursday at the latest, earning around 4 million euros per year.
The 34-year-old joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 and has played in Turin ever since, making 325 appearances for the team and helping them win Serie A titles in 2002, 2003 and 2012 and three Italian Super Cups in the same years.
He is also an Italy international from 1997 with 121 caps.
Juventus won their first two games of the season and stand top of the table on goal difference.
Buffon was also there for Italy’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria Friday which the sides drew 2-2.
