London, Oct 14 (DPA) British police were investigating the alleged theft of designer items from the home of David and Victoria Beckham which were said to have been spotted in a sale on the eBay auction site.Police said a housekeeper couple who worked for the Beckham’s for many years had been arrested but later freed on bail.
But housekeeper Eric Emmett Tuesday rejected as “fabricated nonsense” allegations that he and his wife stole from the Beckhams and sold their property on eBay.
Suspicions were raised when memorabilia belonging to the former England captain and his pop star wife appeared on the eBay auction site.
According to reports, the former Spice Girl’s parents Tony and Jackie Adams spotted some of their daughter’s designer clothes on offer to bidders, among them allegedly the footballer’s worn boots.
The Adams’ then discovered the items were missing from the Beckhams’ Rowneybury House mansion in Hertfordshire, north of London.
Beckingham Palace, as the mansion is known, was the venue for the Beckhams’ elaborate party for charity ahead of the 2006 World Cup.
The Beckhams, who now mainly live in Los Angeles, flew into Britain last week. Footballer David, 33, is currently with the England team in Belarus for Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier in Minsk.
