Brit racer Button burns his left buttock during Bahrain race
April 27th, 2009 - 5:18 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr.27 (ANI): British racer Jenson Button has hailed latest win Bahrain, his third win in four races, as the best of the lot despite suffering a burnt buttock in the searing heat of his Brawn GP cockpit.Button’s victory on the sizzling Sakhir track - where temperatures topped 120 degrees - doubled his championship lead to an incredible 12 points.”Wow, it was so hot out there. It was really bad. The boxes around where I was sitting got really hot - I burnt the top of my left buttock,” The Telegraph quoted Button, as saying.”This win was the best of the lot as we didn’t have the competitive edge we had in the other three races. I don’t know where it has gone. But I’m really excited. The sport needed change and I think it has got it which is great,” said Button, 29.
The Monaco-based racer’s only worry was whether his Brawn GP car would withstand the searing heat. But it did better than Renault’s Fernando Alonso - who collapsed while giving interviews afterwards - to come home seven seconds ahead of Vettel with Trulli third. (ANI)
