Things are not going right for Brian Urlacher, who has been plagued by injuries, one after the other as this Sunday also turned out to be a rather unpleasant one for him on field. Urlacher suffered a nasty injury to his right wrist in the game versus the Packers, where his team (Chicago Bears) also seemed to be suffering from bad fate and ultimately loosing the game 21-15.
Latest reports confirm that Urlacher won’t be able to represent his team for the remaining part of the season due to this horrible injury which has resulted in dislocation of his right wrist.
This 31 year old talented linebacker had various injuries bothering him, with one of the recent ones being his arthritic back for which he even had to undergo a surgery in the neck. The 2009 NFL season also does not seem any better for him, with his latest wrist injury ensuring his unavailability for the forthcoming games of Chicago Bears.
According to latest reports, it is known that the player has revealed the fact that he thinks his season is over, through a text message.
The Chicago Bears will surely miss this dependable and strong defense player in their lineup.
Expectations from Urlacher were high as he was looking fitter after his return back to the fields, post the previous injuries last season, in his back. The news has also been confirmed by Jim Christman, the spokesperson for the Chicago Bears in reference to a report by the renowned daily, the Chicago Tribune, that Urlacher would not be playing for the rest of the season due to this wrist injury. Christman said, “Brian did have a surgery this morning and he is out for the remainder of the season”; surely a sad day for Urlacher, his fans and supporters of Chicago Bears.
