Brett Lee to make a comeback in IPLFebruary 13th, 2009 - 6:00 pm ICT by IANS
Melbourne, Feb 13 (IANS) Australian paceman Brett Lee, who was ruled out of the South Africa tour with a broken foot, is likely to make his international comeback with the Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.
Lee is making a steady recovery after surgery, and Cricket Australia will not rush his return to the national team.
Lee is likely to make his comeback with the Kings XI Punjab towards the end of the IPL.
“Brett’s ankle is moving well. He starts running in a couple of weeks, and hopefully after that starts bowling as well,” team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris was quoted as saying in the Sydney Morning Herald.
“If he is right for comeback, then the Twenty20 World Cup or maybe the tail-end of IPL to get a bit of bowling into his system. It all depends on how he progresses.”
Lee’s summer was cut short when he suffered a stress injury in his left foot in the Boxing Day Test.
