Berlin, Jan 26 (IANS) Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have confirmed that Brazilian center-back Naldo will be out of Saturday’s German league clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
The 29-year-old hopes to be fit for Werder’s trip to Freiburg Feb 5, but has struggled for fitness having only returned in August after spending 15-months on the sidelines with a surgery on his right knee.
“I can not run for now, I am just doing a little work in the gym,” Naldo was quoted as saying by Xinhua Thursday.
Leverkusen are sixth in the German league while Bremen are fifth, seven points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
