“Breeders Cup 2010″ All Set To Start This Weekend

breeders-cup-2010-300x234Nov 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much coveted event “The Breeders” Cup 2010″ is all set to start. The event will take place on November 5 and 6, at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. This particular venue has previously hosted the prestigious Breeds’ Cup in the year 1988, 1991, 1994, 1998, 2000 and 2006 and invites a huge crowd for the event. In 2006, more than 76,132 fans visited the venue.

This would be the 27th “Breeders’ Cup”, and will consist of of 14 races held over two days in two days. The matches will be aired in channels like ESPN, ABC to cater to the world wide audiences in more than 120 countries. The total even reportedly has a stake of $25.5 million. It will have some of the prestigious sponsors like Sentient Jet, Grey Goose, Emirates Airline and TVG Network. The Events for November 5, Friday are scheduled from 4:00 PM, and will start with 1 miles marathon, for horses above three years. This would be followed by Juvenile Fillies Turf, for two year old horses. Filly & Mare Sprint, a 7 furlongs race by female horses will be followed next. Other three events for the day would be Juvenile Fillies Dirt, Filly & Mare Turf and Ladies’ Classic. The events scheduled for November 6, Saturday are Juvenile Turf for one mile by horses within two years. This would be followed by Dirt Sprint, a 6 furlongs race by horses above 3 years. This would be followed by Turf Sprint, Juvenile Dirt, Turf Mile, Dirt Mile, Turf and the event will end with the most appreciated and exciting event Breeders’ Cup Classic, which is a 1 miles race for horses above 3 yrs.

Classic has a stake of more than $5 million which is the highest bid for the event. Last year, it was 6 year old Zenyatta, who won the cup. This year too, she is expected to win, by defeating her male competitors. The entire event will have a participation of 184 horses.
