Rio de Janeiro, March 25 (IANS) Mano Menezes, head coach of the Brazilian men’s national football team, revealed that he received a stern warning from the interim president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Jose Maria Marin.

Menezes shared that Marin suggested the coach produce convincing results in the team’s upcoming friendly matches as well as in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Should Brazil and Menezes come up short, Marin stated that Menezes will be replaced as the head coach of the national team, Xinhua reported.

Menezes admitted that the current level of performance of the national team is below expectations. He also affirmed that he is well aware that positive and impressive results are a must in order to hold his job.

Brazil will participate in four friendly matches leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The team will face Denmark in Germany May 26 before travelling to the United States to face the American national team May 30, Mexico June 3 and Argentina June 9.
