Brazil ‘open’ to Ronaldinho return
August 30th, 2012 - 5:50 pm ICT by IANSRio de Janeiro, Aug 30 (IANS) Brazil’s football confederation (CBF) president Jose Maria Marin has left the door ajar for the return of Ronaldinho to the national team.
Marin, who earlier this year made public his wish for Ronaldinho to be excluded from Brazil’s London Olympic squad, has indicated the two-time FIFA world player of the year would be welcome back into the team, reports Xinhua.
“The doors to the Brazilian team are open to everybody,” Marin said Wednesday.
“There is now a different mentality. Above all, the player has to have pride in wearing the shirt. He can’ t act as if he is doing the fans a favour.”
Ronaldinho has evoked memories of his playing days at Barcelona since joining Atletico Mineiro in June after an acrimonious exit from Flamengo.
Atletico currently leads Brazil’s Serie A standings and Ronaldinho has assumed the form he enjoyed during his celebrated career at the Camp Nou.
