Oct. 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Portland Trail Blazers lost the match on Thursday evening against the Denver Nuggets. They lost the match 97-94. The defeat came as quite a disappointment after the team’s blazing victory against the Houston Rockets. The game was being held at the Rose Garden. The game was close, but the final decision was made by free throws. The loss of the match can be attributed to the entire team. None of the players could keep up with the spectacular performance they had showcased in the earlier match, even Brandon Roy.
In the earlier match [that was held on Tuesday evening], the Portland Trail Blazers were on home ground. The match was held on Tuesday evening. It was the opening match of the season. The Blazers won over the Houstons. The team was led to victory by Brandon Roy. His play was nothing less than spectacular. He scored twenty points. He also caught five rebounds and tackled five assists. The game that the Portland Trial Blazers put up was definitely enough to please Nate McMillan, who is the coach of the team. The team did just what he had wanted them to do. They put up a tough and very physical game, that said volumes about their strength.
Even Roy, whose performance in the previous match led the team to victory, could not keep up the good work. It can’t be denied, however, that he did try his best. His bank shots narrowed the difference in the scores. He brought the game to a close for the Blazers with thirty three points. The buzzer for closure rang in the middle of his attempt to tie the scores.
