Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As per the recent developments are concerned, the Houston Astros have reportedly come to terms with reliever Brandon Lyon. As per the reports, the ever-reliable right-hander Brandon Lyon has agreed to a three year contract with the Astros. 30-year-old Brandon Lyon has supposedly agreed to the $15 million three year contract deal.
Brandon Lyon, whose career has been a subtle balance between ups and downs, was recorded with 2.86 earned run average during his stint with the Detroit last season. He reportedly appeared in as many as 65 games for the Detroits during last season. Although his earned run average (ERA) in the year 2008 surpasses that of the year 2009, his extensive experience in the game still stands him out as one of the better players in baseball. According to the records, the reliever saved 26 games and had an earned run average of 4.70 in the year 2008 with Arizona.
With Brandon Lyon supposedly joining the Astros, the club will now have something to cheer about. Astros were reportedly down and out when Jose Valverde along with the set-up man La Troy Hawkins departed the club, with the former refusing an arbitration whilst the latter was signed off to Milwaukee. The addition of Brandon Lyon will somewhat comfort the losses that the club has suffered in recent times.
The deal is still pending a physical acknowledgment but inside sources reveal that the player has nodded to the agreement that was proposed to him by the Astros. Brandon Lyon’s agent Barry Meister reportedly declined to comment over the agreement. With Brandon Lyon almost sure of getting inducted in the Astros, the team can now look forward to the upcoming season.
