Boise, Dec. 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bowling Green State University lost the game against Idaho University on Dec. 29, Wednesday. The game was the highly anticipated one at the Humanitarian Bowl, making the loss a significant and a terribly disappointing one. The outcome of the game was pretty surprising, as observers had quite a lot of expectations from the Bowling Green State University. In fact, at the beginning of the game, the team was performing quite well; however, towards the second half, they began to lose steam, resulting in a 42-43 loss against the Idaho University.
By the third quarter of the game, the outcome had become pretty obvious, particularly as the Bowling Green State University team began to trail behind by a wide margin of 14-28. The last four seconds in the game proved decisive of the result, with Nathan Enderle and Max Komar of the Idaho University scoring a 16 yard touchdown. The final two point conversion done by Nathan Enderle to Preston Davis secured the game for the Idaho University.
The outcome of the game might have been quite different had the Bowling Green State University kept up the performance they had shown late in the fourth quarter. They managed to secure a 32-45 lead with only 32 seconds left in the game, a fact largely contributed to by Freddie Barnes, who scored a spectacular 51 yard touchdown, taking the pass from Tyler Sheehan. The game proved to be more of a disappointment as P.J. Mahone was brought back into the field after his suspension order was lifted. It was expected that he would be able to make a significant contribution to the team, especially as the team has not lost any match he has played in.
