Bolton’s Cahill set for Chelsea move
December 30th, 2011 - 8:05 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 30 (IANS) Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle confirmed Friday that England defender Gary Cahill is set for a switch to Stamford Bridge.
The English international will become the first buy for Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas who has made his intentions clear of recruiting new blood in the January transfer window.
Bolton have agreed to accept Chelsea’s offer of seven million pounds for the 26-year old centre-back.
“There has been a fee agreed between the clubs and we have now given Gary’s representatives permission to speak to Chelsea. That is where we are with it,” Coyle was quoted as saying by The Sun.
“We obviously have a game tomorrow and I have said to Gary that he has to be focused on giving everything for Bolton Wanderers.
“He knows Bolton Wanderers have been terrific for him just as much as Gary has been for us.
“That is why they have representatives to sort that out and whatever January 1 brings, it will bring.”
