jenksBoston, Dec 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bobby Jenks has approved to a 2-year, $12 million deal with Boston Red Sox, according to multiple reports. Boston Red Sox had been on the look-out for bullpen help, if not a substitute for Jonathan Papelbon and experts feel that the inclusion of the former Chicago White Sox player would give the team three right-handed power arms that might play a pivotal role in ensuring its victory.

Since the news of Bobby Jenks signing a deal with the Boston Red Sox was first reported by a leading sports website, it has attracted huge attention on the Internet with all his fans scrambling the web to know whether the player is actually joining the team. Multiple sources have reported that the 29-year-old pitcher is all set to commence a new journey in his baseball career by joining the Boston Red Sox although any official confirmation is yet to be ascertained.

Bobby Jenks was an astonishing non-tender, keeping in consideration that he has been the 4th-most valuable relief pitcher of the American League since 2005. Even then the Chicago White Sox had the feeling that he was not worth anything above the $7.5 million that he earned in 2010. As a result the management did not want to risk paying such a lot of money to the player and refused to extent his contract earlier this month. Bobby Jenks seems to have a great record in 2010 that includes the 2nd-best FIP (2.59) of his career. Therefore, it can be presumed that whichever team signs him could end up having one of the best relief pitchers of the game.
