Bangalore , August 17 (ANI): As the Jammu and Kashmir is burning, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants 100 acres of land to be transferred to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) to resolve the issue in the State.
Talking to ANI in an exclusive interview in Bangalore on Sunday, the senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said that as per the order of the court the land must be transferred to the shrine board to resolve the issue.
He further said that the BJP demands delimitation of the constituencies to do justice to the people of Jammu .
The BJP leader opposed any withdrawal or reduction of troops from the valley. Naidu also blamed the Prime Minister and the State administration for mishandling of the whole issue in Jammu ..
Naidu came down heavily on the statement made by actress and former Rajya Sabha member Shabana Azmi and said it would further aggravate the situation in the valley.
Azmi had said in a television interview that although Muslims are safer in this country than in other parts of the world because they have a stake and space in Indian democracy, but Indian democracy is unfair to Muslims.
Naidu also favoured a debate exploration of minerals and called for a new mining policy.
The dispute began after the Kashmir government promised to give forest land to a trust that runs Amarnath shrine. Many Muslims were enraged.
The government then rescinded its decision, which in turn angered Hindus in Jammu who attacked lorries carrying supplies to Kashmir valley. (ANI)
