Bhullar wins Pro-Am, hopes to continue form in main event
February 10th, 2010 - 9:33 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Gurgaon, Feb 10 (IANS) Gaganjeet Bhullar, fresh from a win last week, signalled his intentions for the inaugural Avantha Masters golf by taking his team to victory in the morning Pro-Am here Wednesday.
Bhullar, winner of the Asian Tour International, and one of the rising stars of Indian and Asian golf, has as his partners, Vineet Chabra, Nitin Jajoo and Rajesh Kumar in the Avantha team.
“I am looking forward to continuing this form into the main tournament,” said Bhullar who tees off in first round with Felipe Aguilar and Ashok Kumar in the morning.
Ensuring a further Indian stamp on the morning Pro-Am was Rahul Ganapathy, who carried his team of Pritha Goswami, Rakesh Jairath and Manu Garg to second place.
Englishman Lee Slattery had Rajeev Vasudeva, Sonny Iqbal and Astha Mittal with him in third place.
The afternoon Pro-Am saw Pablo Larrazabal, take his team to victory. His teammates were Vinay Goel, JS Naurath and Sheila Sangwan and they represented the Emirates team.
Coming behind them in second spot was Fabrizio Zanotti’s team of Yuvraj Chadha, VK Dandona and Harinder Bansi representing adidas. In the third place were Hideto Tanihara’s team with Rahul Khanna, HSB Gill, Rohit Nath. Pro Shiv Kapur playing with Ravi Talwar, Shiv Nath and Govind Atwal were fourth.
