New Delhi, Dec 13 (IANS) Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary is not worrying about the spinning track prepared at the Karnail Singh Stadium here for their crucial Ranji Trophy Super League cricket match against Railways starting Wednesday. Bengal, who are lying at the fifth place with 12 points in Group A, are looking for an outright win against sixth placed Railways, who have 11 points, to qualify for the quarterfinals. Railways are also high on confidence after beating Delhi in their last match.

With all their previous six matches ending in draws, Tiwary knows that it will be a tough task, but not impossible.

“I saw the wicket today and they (Railways) have prepared a spinning track that will assist left-arm spinner Murali Kartik. But our spinners have also done well and, hopefully, we will get a result from this match,” the Bengal captain told IANS.

Asked if the six draws will haunt Bengal, Tiwary said: “I can’t help it. All the matches that we played till now were on dull pitches, not enough to have a result. Such tracks don’t help teams to pick up 20 wickets in a match and if you don’t, it is tough to get outright wins.”

Tiwary said that the team has played well in all the matches, except against Mumbai and Assam.

“We made a good start in the league and have played well as a unit in all the matches. If we had a poor start, our middle-order and lower order did well and in some matches our opening batsmen gave us great starts that helped us in getting crucial three points against Delhi, Gujarat and Saurashtra,” he said.

Asked about the team composition, Tiwary said: “We still have a day left to decide on the team composition. But our spinners have to play a crucial role in this match.”
