benDenver, Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After being suspended for six games over a sexual assault case, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is likely to have a meeting with Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the National Football League in a bid to reduce the term of his suspension. According to reports, the noted player is seeking to slash his suspension from six games to four games owing to which he would be meeting the NFL commissioner.

The news that Ben Roethlisberger is all set to hold a meeting with Roger Goodell was initially reported by a leading news source which sparked a huge array of speculation. However, the news was later validated by Greg Aiello, the spokesperson of the National Football League who told the media that the commissioner would meet up with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback before he makes his decision in this regard prior to the start of the regular season. Although it has been conformed that Ben Roethlisberger and Roger Goodell would be discussing the matter in a personal meeting, any information about the time or the venue of the meeting has not been forthcoming. Earlier this month, Roger Goodell had words of appreciation for the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback for the manner in which he was reshaping his career while adding that the NFL would be in the process of monitoring his progress prior to finalizing the actual duration of his suspension period.

Ben Roethlisberger was accused of sexually assaulting a college student in the month of March this year but he was not criminally charged in the case. Meanwhile, if his suspension is reduced to four games then all his fans would be able to see him play against the Cleveland on October 17.
