Ben Hansbrough Ensures Win For Notre Dame

Ben HansbroughJan 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ben Hansbrough the senior guard of Notre Dame has been selected in the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his outstanding performance in the last game. His average was 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 20.5 points- in the games against Marquette and Cincinnati. Hence, the player is going to get named to the league’s weekly honor roll for the third time in his playing career. In the win over Marquette he played a pivotal role with six assists and grabbing five rebounds. In the game against Cincinati the senior guard did equally well and got 13 points.

It was because of his stellar performance the Notre Dame was able to trounce the Pittsburgh team and put a stop to their home winning streak. It is no mean feat for the No 15 team to beat the no 2. The player demonstrated a great performance in the game and he was assisted by Carleton Scott who added 16 points. The Notre Dame team employed a plodding game plan to beat Pittsburgh. Ben Hansbrough was quite happy as expected after the win and said “This was the first time we committed to an all-out ‘burn’, and we beat Pitt doing it two times last year”.

Mike Brey the Notre Dame coach said that he felt relieved after the team performed well and the players lived up to his expectation. The game however was not without challenge for Notre Dame. Till halftime the opponent team put up a good resistance. Ben Hansbrough chipped in and ensured that his team edges ahead of the rivals and his efforts did not go in vain at the end.
