London, Nov 28 (ANI): David Beckham’s flagship football academy in Greenwich is closing in January, it has emerged.
According to reports, the multi-million pound centre’s five-year lease on its site is not being renewed.
In fact, owners AEG are planning an Olympic training centre there, reports The Sun.
Beckham launched the academy in 2005 with 2million pounds of his own money.
A spokesman for Beckham said: “We always knew the lease was coming to an end. The academy is now moving beyond one site to reach more children.” (ANI)
