David Beckham London, Sep 10(ANI): England midfielder David Beckham, who has been recovering from the Achilles tendon injury which ruled him out of this year’s World Cup, has said that he is eyeing a Three Lions comeback when fully fit.

“He (Capello) has made me aware all the way through being manager that if you’re performing and you’re playing well then you have a chance of being in the squad, Sky Sports quoted Beckham, as saying.

“The thing about my situation now is just getting back on the field and getting back fit, then what happens after that we’ll see,” he added.

Beckham further said that Capello had contacted him to clear up any misunderstandings over his international future, and insists that his relationship with the Italian is still strong.

“Obviously it was a surprise at the time, but I spoke to him shortly after that and he explained everything to me and it was brushed under the carpet, so to speak,” Beckham said.

“I’ve always had a good relationship with Fabio and that’s not changed. Things get said, things get taken out of proportion and turned around.”

“Like I said, I’ve always supported him as a manager and the staff he’s got down there, and he’s always supported me,” he added.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Galaxy has activated Beckham from their disabled list, making him eligible for the club’s Major League Soccer (MLS) home match against Columbus on Saturday. (ANI)
