London, Aug 31 (IANS) English football star David Beckham, who was booed recently for missing 17 matches while on loan to Italian club AC Milan, has now turned his US team LA Galaxy’s fortunes around.
The sun.co.uk reports that ever since Beckham returned, his team has won four matches and lost just one. And now the fans are cheering him again as their team is poised to be in the playoffs for the first time in three years.
There were loud cheers as Beckham scored a goal in the 80th minute in a recent match. One fan on a site wrote: “Great Job Sir David Beckham! The team’s got heart and fire.”
Another fan joked: “My new favourite bit of side-amusement at games is hearing people scream, ‘Beckham you suck’ seconds before he scores - then cheering like crazy!”
