London, Feb. 12 (ANI): David Beckham has equaled former England skipper Bobby Moores record of 108 appearances, and has now vowed to try to overtake it.
I have always dreamed of playing for England and to achieve this record is unbelievable. Im honoured. Bobby Moore won the World Cup with England. Hes an icon and a legend. It is very humbling, Becks declared despite a disappointing defeat to Spain.
The midfielder, 33, is hoping to secure a permanent move to AC Milan after completing his two-year stint with LA Galaxy, which should assist him to add to his England caps tally and go on to the 2010 World Cup.
I hope to keep on playing for my country. Of course, I do. I still enjoy my football and, as long as thats the case, Ill keep on going. I dont know where my future lies. Ive expressed my feelings, so well have to wait and see, Beckham said.
The current England skipper is currently 18 short of breaking Peter Shiltons overall caps record of 125 for England.
I dont know what the secret is. Ive always said I would be honoured to be up there with the likes of Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore, he said when asked about the secret of his success. (ANI)
