jay-cutlerJan 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chicago Bears suffered a massive loss on Sunday as they were routed by the Green Bay Packers with a score of 21-14 in NFC Championship match. Nothing swayed in favor of Bears on Sunday as they not only failed to live up to the championship expectations but also had to cope up to stay in the game after their quarterback Jay Cutler got himself injured badly.

The Bears quarterback was taken off the field with nine minutes left in the third quarter. He was then replaced by veteran Todd Collins whose dismal performance did nothing good for the team as they lost out on a total score of 21-14. The ever reliable Jay Cutler was taken off the field after he suffered a knee injury. Speculations were on whether the player would make a comeback or not in the latter half of the game, but hopes were dashed for the fans when they learned that Jay Cutler’s injury was serious enough to held back the player for the rest of the game. Although Jay Cutler struggled throughout the time he was on the field, completing 6 of 14 passes for 80 yards, but we all know what Jay Cutler is capable off.

Jay Cutter’s immediate replacement Todd Collins failed to live up to the expectations after 0 for 4 for 0 yards. He was later on replaced by third-stringer Caleb Hanie. But it was too late for the Bears to gain a threshold in the match. The defeat ousts the Bears from NFC championship thereby pitting Green Bay Packers against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Superbowl. The match is scheduled to take place of February 6.
